About

Uninspired by the direction metal was taking in late 2006 Rhythm Guitarist/Vocalist Adam Calderbank hailing from Wigan set up a project with a drummer and lead guitarist found in local ads to quite selfishly write music for themselves.

Element started to gig the new line up in Febuary 07 starting at Manchester's Roadhouse and continuing to gig all over the UK as far as Glasgow to support newly signed act Speed Theory grabbing any opportunity to gig anywhere and everywhere. 3 brand new songs were thrown down on the Bleed On My Own EP and in May 07 the band went on to accept an invitation to support the legendary NWOBHM band Diamond Head that were so influencial to Metallica and Megadeth. Over the summer the band also landed a support slot with Evile (Earache Records) and gained a Bass Guitarist by the name of Alex Burnell. Element continued to play alongside many well respected upcoming underground bands such as Panic Cell, RSJ, The Inbreds, Solitary, Strain, I-Remain to name but a few.

In Feb 08 the band locked themselves away for 8 days at Hellfire Studios, Birmingham where they quickly recorded their debut album Under The Influence with producer Ajeet Gill. Element self released this title on April 30th 2008 with 1000 copies being sold from independent record stores in the UK, Japan, and USA. Also digitally available via iTunes, Napster, and Amazon.

A number of positive reviews from the press inspired the band to start writing new material for a second album and to carve a more individual sound on a new record. Preparations began.

Spring/Summer 2010 saw the band begin recording their second album at their HQ, Urban Sound Studios (Wigan). The band were also invited to play at Wigan's infamous Haigh Festival in July 2010 to grace a stage (used as the main stage at Glastonbury 2010) and perform in front of an audience of 10,000 people to which they accepted and as a result tore Wigan a new arse hole.

Final mastering touches were added to the new project at Parlour Studios (Kettering) and Corrupt Desires is now ready for release. The band have recently secured a worldwide distribution deal with Casket/Copro Records and the brand new second album Corrupt Desires is set for release May 2011.

Corrupt Desires is a 60 minute album for fans that appreciate heavy guitar riffs.
