What went wrong?
Music took over and his hobby and passion turned into a full time job with his band "Energy".
The band secured a publishing deal with Nigel Gray, the producer for the first three Police albums with hits like Roxanne and Message In A Bottle.The band demoed all their songs in the same studios as the Police had used, and this had a big impact on Iain, who was always the band member most into the recording side.
The relationship with Nigel ended after the band took 300 fans 90 miles to London for a showcase gig and none of the invited Record Companies turned up, (surprise, surprise.) Looking back, Iain says they should have stuck with Nigel but they were so devastated at the time, they became disillusioned, and felt it was Nigel's fault, which of course it wasn't, ITS THE MUSIC BUSINESS, it,s unlike any other. Iain realizes now how naive he was and that perseverance is a major, major ingredient for success in the music business.

8hr day rate: Iain producing,Tues to Fri;9.30am to 5.30pm........£220.
8hr day rate:Iain producing, Saturdays;9.30am to 5.30pm........£250.
After 5.30pm....£15 per half hour
TAPE / CD COSTS
1" Master..£90; Only needs to be purchased if you intend remixing at a later date. DAT Tapes...£10; Used as a safety backup to Hard drive. First Red Book CD Master.....£5, further CD copies £1 each.

Premier Rehearsal Rooms
"BIG ROOM 1"(600 watt pa system) is £24/session, and is available 10am - 2pm, 2pm - 6pm,or 6pm - 10pm.
"BLACK ROOM 2 "(200 watt pa system) sessions are the same hours as Big Room on Saturday and Sunday. £22..... midweek Mon to Fri 9am till 1pm, 1pm till 5pm;£22.... 5pm till 8.30 pm, 8.30pm till 11pm. £20 / session.
"WHITE ROOM 3 " (600 watt pa system), sessions are 10am - 2pm, 2pm - 6pm, 6pm - 10pm. £20 / session.
