About The smallest of the three academy venues in Manchester is located on the top floor of the University of Manchester student's union. An intimate venue holding just a few hundred people per event, it has played host to many bands before they have "broken" and advanced to the larger venues.

The smallest Academy has a potent, powerful sound system and arguably has the best sound of all of the academy venues, making the bands who play there come across very clear.

Academy 3 also features a small bar located opposite the stage selling reasonably priced snacks and beverages.

It's also home to the weekly 'Club Trop' which is a celebration of all things 80's, which has been running for over ten years. Photos
